Our Story

Rescue The Poor, the Christian based and charity NGO was started on 8th February 2012. It was started by a kind and God-fearing person raised from a Christian family, Mukisa Grace Peter who saw the need of taking the responsibility of being the defenders of the rights and the plight of the poor individuals.

It is very true that a lot of people are poor but for our case, we are here to help people with basic needs of life such as Education, Proper Health Care, Clean Water, Shelter, and Nutritious meals.

We must say God has been so good to us, He has connected us to a group of good people from USA to be part of us. Rescue the Poor America has been created too by our friends in America to receive any kind of donations on behalf of Rescue the Poor Uganda.

We derived our name “Rescue the Poor”, from the book of Psalm 82:4 (NIV) Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.

Community Programs

Orphaned & Vulnerable

We provide the children with the basic needs of their lives, but basically those that are most difficult for the parents and guardians like Education, shoes, cloths and health care.

Family Support Program

Every child needs someone to support and protect them as they grow. But many parents face hardships that prevent them from giving proper care.

Clean & Safe Water

Clean water is key to ending poverty, but nearly 1 in 5 people across Uganda faces severe water shortages and half must walk more than 30 minutes to reach a protected water source.

Island Mission

Since our ministry is to help rescue orphaned and vulnerable children, we believe we are called to minister to people in the islands so we can reach the children.
